With over 25 years of experience, David is a seasoned technology leader focused on security, governance, and automation. He has worked with diverse organizations including startups, large enterprises, and government agencies. Leveraging his expertise, David has led multi-disciplinary teams of all sizes and planned and executed complex disaster recovery solutions, as well as critical migrations to the cloud.
Currently, as a Senior Manager at Amazon Web Services, David leads a team of Solutions Architects supporting state and local government customers with cloud migrations and cloud security & governance. Since joining AWS in 2013, he has held roles including Solutions Architect and Technical Program Manager. As the global Technical Program Manager for AWS Tech U, David empowered people across six continents to gain the technical and professional skills needed to thrive at AWS through this accelerated workforce development program. In his present role, he leads managers and architects to help CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs execute cloud migration strategies, implement cloud security and governance, and transform their organizations.
David’s over 25 years of experience is complemented by achieving and maintaining key certifications. He has held a CISSP certification since 2005 and currently holds credentials including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
Prior to AWS, David gained valuable perspective leading teams migrating to the cloud and automating deployments and resiliency for high-traffic platforms as an AWS customer. This experience allows him to better understand customer needs today. Passionate about technology, David thrives on empowering teams and customers to innovate in the cloud.
